Online camp for kids ages 5–9

Experience the joy of being united as one, during this two-day live online Yoga camp for kids. Come together to learn and practice Yoga through spiritual discussions, Hatha Yoga practice, meditation, deep relaxation, chanting, and sharing.

Live sessions with Nitya at 10–11 am, and 2–3 pm (EDT) each Thursday.

Day 1 | July 9

*Please bring pipe cleaner or yarn and beads to class*

  • Hatha Yoga with pranayama, meditation, and Yoga Nidra
  • Reading from The Tower by Richard Paul Evans—Discuss what it means to be great. Who lifts you up? Who do you lift up?
  • Use pipe cleaner or yarn to string 21 beads to make a mala bracelet
  • Introduce the Branches of Yoga
  • Hatha Yoga with Japa Yoga highlighted
  • Using our mala bracelet for Japa Yoga, chanting Om Shanti into meditation
  • Reading from What Should Danny Do?—A fun choose your adventure book

Day 2 | July 16

*Please bring mala bracelet, paper, markers, crayons and/or colored pencils to class*

  • Hatha Yoga with pranayama, meditation, and Yoga Nidra with a focus on Karma Yoga
  • Reading from What Does it Mean to Be Kind? By Rana DiOrio and discuss how you are a helper at home, in your neighborhood, and out in the world
  • Chanting Om Shanti with our mala bracelet
  • “I Feel My Body” Hatha Yoga with a focus on the benefits of Hatha
  • Reading from Listening to My Body by Gabi Garcia and discuss how you are feeling today, right now
  • Drawing activity—Draw a self-portrait of You, just as you felt in your meditation

You will also have access to an online social community to connect and communicate with other participants about this course.
