Join us for the Celebration of Guru Poornima!
Welcome to Guru Poornima honoring Sri Gurudev and the Light of Truth of all faiths. All are invited to attend who are free from symptoms of Covid, flu or
other contagious illnesses.
Guru Poornima is a holiday in the Hindu tradition celebrated on the July full moon to honor one’s guru. In Integral Yoga we celebrate the life and teachings of our guru Sri Swami Satchidanandaji, Sri Gurudev. At Satchidananda Ashram–Yogaville, we have special pujas (worship services) offered to Sri Gurudev. Additionally, Sri Gurudev, as a pioneer in the interfaith movement, encouraged us to honor the great saints and faiths during Guru Poornima. As a part of the celebration, we include a Light of Truth Universal Service. We also celebrate the anniversary of the Light of Truth Universal Shrine (LOTUS) which was dedicated in July of 1986.
